Customer service

IKEA Kuwait's terms give one contact number, 1840408, and use it for nearly everything: rescheduling, cancelling, arranging a return pickup, claiming a refund after a failed delivery and reporting damaged or missing items. The terms we read on 26 October list no email address or opening hours. Discount codes are covered on our IKEA Kuwait coupon page.

Delivery options and fees

Online orders pay KWD 3 for parcel delivery; the KWD 1 starting price on the homepage did not match that page when we checked. The terms describe parcel delivery for items up to 30 kg, door to door, Sunday to Saturday; the delivery page mentions parcels up to 50 kg. Mirrors, glass and anything larger than 35 x 55 x 100 cm go by truck instead. Truck delivery is used for heavier or bulky orders, and its fee is calculated at checkout. We found no published free-delivery threshold for Kuwait.

IKEA aims to deliver within three days, but dates given online, by phone or by email are estimates. Truck customers get an email with the delivery time, and the crew calls on the day. Plants and other perishables are not delivered, and the crew will not unpack, assemble or remove doors or windows to get items in. Click & Collect is free.

Tracking, rescheduling and missed deliveries

The site header has a Track order link to IKEA Kuwait's track-and-manage page. To change a delivery date, call 1840408 at least 48 hours ahead. If the first delivery attempt fails, IKEA contacts you within 24 hours to arrange a second one, no later than 96 hours after that contact. If the second attempt also fails, the web order is cancelled: the price and any assembly charge are refunded, the delivery fee is not, and you call 1840408 to process the refund.

Changing or cancelling an order

You cannot change or add products after the confirmation email, and changes to products or dates usually add cost and may delay delivery. To cancel before shipment, call 1840408. Timing decides the refund: cancel the whole order 48 hours or more before delivery and you get back the price, delivery and assembly fees; cancel within 48 hours and the delivery fee is kept. For express delivery, cancelling before it arrives returns everything, including the fee, but refusing it at the door does not return the fee.

How to return a product

Returns are accepted for up to 365 days from the day you ordered, for unused, unassembled products in full original packaging with the receipt. Not returnable: used bedding, opened mattresses or packages, assembled items, upholstered items without their original tag, fabric sold by the metre, custom-made, modified or washed items, and As-Is products.

  1. Check the product is unused, unassembled and in its full original packaging, and find the receipt.
  2. Either take it to the Exchange and Return counter at an IKEA store,
  3. or call 1840408 to ask for a pickup from your delivery address; IKEA may not always be able to collect, and charges may apply.
  4. For a faulty product, expect IKEA to arrange a quality inspection at your address first.
  5. Keep the return receipt until the refund reaches your account.

Refunds and damaged items

Refunds go back to the payment method you used and can take from 1 business day to 3 weeks, depending on your bank. Delivery, picking and assembly fees are generally not refunded on returns. If IKEA refuses an order, it refunds you within three working days of telling you.

Damaged, missing or wrong items must be reported within 48 hours of delivery by calling 1840408. Keep the damaged item as it is, because IKEA may need to inspect it.

Payment methods

Kuwaiti shoppers can pay by KNET, Apple Pay, Visa, Mastercard or American Express, and deema is offered for paying in instalments. Assembly is charged as a percentage of the product price with a minimum fee, and some products have no assembly option. IKEA is not responsible for any instalment fees.

Frequently asked questions

What is the IKEA Kuwait customer service number?

1840408. IKEA Kuwait's terms use this one number for rescheduling, cancelling, booking a return pickup, chasing a refund after a failed delivery and reporting damaged or missing items. The terms do not list an email address or opening hours, so the phone is the main channel.

Is the delivery fee refunded when I cancel an IKEA Kuwait order?

Only if you cancel the whole order 48 hours or more before delivery; then the price, delivery and assembly fees all come back. Inside 48 hours, the delivery fee is kept. For express delivery, cancelling before it arrives refunds the fee, but refusing the order at the door does not.

What happens if I miss an IKEA delivery in Kuwait?

IKEA calls within 24 hours to arrange a second attempt, no later than 96 hours after that call. If the second attempt fails too, the online order is cancelled. You get back the price and assembly charges but not the delivery fee, and placing the order again means paying delivery again.

Can I return an assembled IKEA item in Kuwait?

No. IKEA Kuwait's terms exclude assembled items from returns, together with opened mattresses or packages, used bedding and As-Is products. Returns must be unused, unassembled and in full original packaging, so measure the space and check the product before you build it.

How quickly must I report a damaged IKEA delivery in Kuwait?

Within 48 hours of delivery, by calling 1840408. This covers damaged, missing and incorrect items. Keep the damaged product and its packaging as they are, because IKEA may need to inspect them before replacing or refunding anything.

Why was my IKEA Kuwait parcel order moved to truck delivery?

Because of size, weight or fragility. Mirrors, glass and items larger than 35 x 55 x 100 cm are moved from parcel to truck delivery, as are heavier orders. Truck delivery has its own fee, calculated at checkout, and you receive an email with the delivery time.
