How we check codes
Reviewed by Omar KhatibUpdated
Every code on Coupons Radar has one label, decided by its evidence. Labels update by themselves as evidence ages.
The labels
| Label | Rule |
|---|---|
| Verified code | Worked in our basket test in the last 21 days, or our own code checked by an editor in the last 3 days. |
| Store offer / Store deal | Published by the store itself (welcome, app, bank-card or sale offer) and seen in the last 45 days. |
| Widely listed | The exact code is listed for that store and country on 3 or more independent coupon sites in the last 30 days. Sister sites in one network count once. |
| Unverified | Listed somewhere, but without enough evidence yet. |
| Not working | Rejected in our basket test. The date of the test is shown. |
| Expired | Its end date has passed or the store ended it. A nightly job expires codes past their end date. |
Basket tests
- We open the store as a guest in the right country and add normal items to the basket.
- We enter a made-up control code first. It must be rejected; if it isn’t, we don’t trust the result.
- We enter the listed code and read the discount line. Some stores apply a code of their own when yours fails, so we check which code the line names.
- We save a cropped screenshot of the order summary with the date, then empty the basket. We never place an order.
Some stores block automated or repeated tests. Where we couldn’t test, the label says so by staying on Store offer, Widely listed or Unverified.
What “Last checked” means
The date next to a label is the latest of: our basket test, an editor’s check, or the date we last saw the code listed or published. Cosmetic edits never change it.
Order on the page
Verified codes first, then the store’s own offers, then store deals, then widely listed codes, then unverified ones. Within a group, codes listed on more sites and seen more recently come first. Failed and expired codes are shown separately.
Store facts
Delivery, returns and payment facts are read from each store’s own help pages for each country, with the date read. When a store blocks us, we use search snippets of its official pages and say so on the page. “–” means the store doesn’t publish the figure.
