Customer service
Airalo's support team works 24/7, and the way in is chat. The UAE pages we used do not give a phone number or email address, so if something goes wrong at the airport or on arrival, start a chat from airalo.com or the Airalo app rather than looking for a hotline.
Buying ahead and installing
An Airalo package is a digital profile, so there is no shipping step. You can buy it before the trip, and the validity period does not begin at the moment of purchase. That gives you time to choose when to install.
Installation needs a steady internet connection, which can be hard to find in transit, so the sensible moment is at home in the UAE on your own Wi-Fi. Installing before you leave also helps you avoid roaming charges from your home provider once you land. Airalo has separate guides for installing on Samsung Galaxy and iOS phones, by QR code or manually.
Activation and the recycling rule
The clock on a package starts once the eSIM is installed or connects to a network, depending on the package. Some packages also carry a recycling policy: they must be in use within a set period after purchase, and in use means actively connected to a network, not merely installed on the phone.
If such an eSIM is not used in time, it is recycled and you can no longer use it. Before paying, open the package's additional information to see whether it has a recycling policy and how long the limit is. If it does, buy closer to the date you will actually connect.
Refunds
The UAE sources behind this page do not set out a refund procedure or timings. Ask the 24/7 chat team before installing a package you no longer need, and keep in mind that an eSIM lost to the recycling rule cannot be used afterwards.
Payment, currency and Airmoney
Accepted methods are Visa, Mastercard, American Express, UnionPay and JCB cards, PayPal, Google Pay, Airmoney and Apple Pay, which Airalo says is not available in all countries. Alipay works in the mobile app only. Dirhams are missing from Airalo's currency list; the order is billed in a listed currency such as US dollars and converted by your card issuer.
Airmoney can be combined with another method: choose the method, then Apply Code/Use Airmoney, and enter how much credit to use. It cannot be applied while the balance is under $1, and each purchase pushes its expiry a year further out.
Every new account starts as Traveler with 5% back. Silver Traveler at $20 of paid spend earns 6%, Gold Traveler at $70 earns 7% and Platinum Traveler at $200 earns 10%. Only what you pay with money counts towards these levels; orders paid with Airmoney do not. For current codes, see our Airalo UAE coupon page.

Frequently asked questions
What does it mean when an Airalo package is recycled?
It means the eSIM has been withdrawn because it was not used within the period its recycling policy allows, and you can no longer use it. Only some packages carry this rule. The package's additional information shows whether it applies and what the time limit is, so read it before you pay.
Does installing the eSIM count as using it under the recycling rule?
No. Airalo counts an eSIM as in use only when it is actively connected to a network. Having it installed on your phone is not enough. If your package has a recycling limit, make sure it connects somewhere within that period, or time your purchase so the trip falls inside it.
Do orders paid with Airmoney help me reach a higher loyalty level?
No. Airalo's loyalty levels count only the purchases you pay for; anything covered by Airmoney is left out. If you are close to the $200 mark for Platinum Traveler and its 10% back, paying the next order by card or PayPal moves you towards it, while spending credit does not.
Does Alipay work for Airalo purchases in the UAE?
Only in the Airalo mobile app. Alipay is on the list of accepted methods, but Airalo states it works through the app rather than the website. On a computer, use a card, PayPal or Google Pay instead, or Apple Pay if it appears for you, since Airalo does not offer it in every country.
Why install the eSIM before leaving the UAE?
Because installation needs a stable internet connection, which is easier to find at home than in an airport or abroad. Installing early also helps you avoid roaming charges from your home provider when you land. Buying and installing do not normally use up the package days, which start when it is installed or connects, depending on the package.
Can I split one Airalo payment between Airmoney and a card?
Yes. At checkout pick the card or other method first, then select Apply Code/Use Airmoney and type the amount of credit you want to spend. Airmoney covers that part and the method pays the rest. The option is unavailable while your balance is below $1.
